Stephen Nicholls (Monash University, Victorian Heart Hospital) on KRAKEN (NCT05563246), the phase 2 trial of muvalaplin (Lilly's LY3473329), the first oral Lp(a)-lowering agent: a small molecule that blocks the assembly of apo(a) with apoB. 233 adults aged 40 or older with elevated Lp(a) and high cardiovascular risk took a daily tablet for 12 weeks; the primary outcome was the percent change in Lp(a), which fell by up to 70 percent on the traditional assay and 85 percent on an intact-particle assay. Recorded at AHA Scientific Sessions 2024.
